About

The Grumbling Dwarf is a way to communicate with the local, Wisconsin, tabletop gaming community. It is a place for people to interact with each other online AND end up meeting each other in person to discuss, and play, their favorite tabletop games to include role-playing games (rpgs), board games, and miniatures gaming.

The Dwarf has gone through it’s iterations, but it is still devoted to see gaming in the Wisconsin region prosper through community interaction.

GrumblingDwarf.com is a site dedicated to the gaming industry and the south central tabletop gaming community.  Here we offer our 2 cents through our commentary in an effort to help the tabletop gaming industry as well as an open forum for anyone wanting to discuss their favorite tabletop games or general geekdom.

We typically try to provide content each week. It’s easy to keep track of our postings by using either our RSS feed or by following us on Twitter .

Sean Kelley got involved in role-playing games back in middle school where he made a 1st Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons character. The game group went on to play TSR’s Top Secret and FASA’s Star Trek RPG. He lost touch with gaming, but came back to it when one of his childhood buddies offered to run a new version of Dungeons and Dragons using a more intuitive d20 system. He’s been back in the gaming scene ever since, and is proud to have met so many good people that share such an awesome hobby.

Interested in Contributing?

We are always looking for smart, intelligent, gamers that are willing to share information, ideas, banter, about the rpg world.  Please contact us if you’re interested in being a contributor.

You don’t need to have publishing credentials, but we would prefer some of the following…

  • Passion for gaming or the game industry
  • Intelligently presented articles – fun and levity are welcome, we still want to have fun. Example of what we don’t want – review for a product that just says the rpg product sucks without qualifying it.
  • Consistency – even if you want to run a 2 part/post series or be in it for the long haul, it’s nice to set expectations for our visitors.

Full disclosure – we are not in it for revenue generation. Our ads pay for hosting costs first. However, we believe that if contributors are generating traffic to the site, and expenses have been covered, that contributors should be awarded appropriately.

We offer affordable advertising opportunities. Please use the Contact form to inquire.
