Grumbling Dwarf was born on May 13th, 2004. It’s probably one of the youngest Dwarfs you know. We have always taken pride in being a local community site for tabletop gamers in the Wisconsin region. After all, tabletop gaming and community really belong together. Through this mantra we have come to know a lot of good people. People we’ve lived near, and have often crossed paths in local game stores, now recognize each other and aren’t afraid to say ‘ello. Some relationships have grown to the point of inviting new friends into their homes to share the joy of playing their favorite role-playing games. Besides the occasional obnoxious munchkin, many of these friendships are positive and strengthens our community.
I have felt that the Dwarf has played a minor role in this. A role, though beneficial, has fallen short in its potential. This is why I’d like to open the Dwarf to the community. This is not an effort to put forums into place and hope that people visit and contribute to game topics, rather it is an effort to really put things into the community’s hands. So what does this mean?
